Looking after it
Concrete is heavy and it can chip. Lift a piece from the base, not by an ear, a wing or a hat. Rinse the dust off with water and a soft brush. No pressure washer, no scouring pad. Hand painted finishes soften in full sun over the years. A coat of clear outdoor sealer once a season keeps the colour longer. Where the ground freezes, bring the smaller pieces in or set them off the wet ground for the winter.
